Friday Night Feature
Starting November 7th, Sol Space is turning Friday evenings into a space for creativity, movement, and connection. Every Friday from 6–7 PM, our Friday Night Feature series will bring something new and exciting to the community — a mix of two movie screenings and two special classes each month designed to inspire, connect, and help you explore something unexpected.
Think Tank at Sol Space: Building Ideas, Voices, and Futures
When I was a child, I was given my first camera. I had many dreams and creative ideas, but I never found a place where I could get the structure, mentorship, or practical guidance I needed. Nobody was there to teach me about financial literacy, branding, or how to turn my art into something more.
Collective Healing During Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month
On August 12, 2016, we lost our son Winter at 39 weeks. Yoga became my sanctuary for healing, and in 2021, joy returned with the birth of my son Rain. I carry Winter always, honoring him by sharing our story to raise awareness and offer hope.
New Class Spotlight: Candlelit Restorative Yoga
Whether you’re winding down your weekend or closing out a busy weekday, Candlelit Restorative Yoga is the perfect pause your body and mind have been asking for.
Time Is Now: Lessons From Hawaii
When I traded the rush of Chicago for the calm of Hawaii, I realized time doesn’t have to be a race. It can soften. It can be felt. In the stretch of ocean air, I discovered that now is all we really have—and everything worth doing demands we start today.
Finding Strength, Space, and Community as a Woman Entrepreneur
Five weeks ago, I stood at the door of Sol Space with equal parts excitement and nerves. I wondered if anyone would come, if this dream of creating a place for movement, creativity, and connection would truly resonate.
Meet Elita: Cultivating Patience, Kindness, and Growth Through Yoga
At Sol Space, we are lucky to have teachers who bring not just movement but wisdom, patience, and perspective to the mat. Elita is one of those instructors whose presence immediately makes you feel at ease, yet inspired to grow.
Why Kids Yoga Matters (And Why Consistency Is Key)
As a mom, yoga teacher, and former therapist of seven years at Chicago Pediatric Therapy and Wellness Center, I’ve seen the powerful benefits of yoga for children—especially when it’s practiced consistently.
New Class: Dance Flow on Friday Nights @7 PM.
On Friday nights, something magical happens at Sol Space. The lights dim, the music rises, and bodies begin to move — not in unison, not in perfection, but in honest, rhythmic release. Dance Flow isn’t about getting the steps right; it’s about getting into your body. Led by Andrea LeVasseur, this class is an invitation to feel, to let go, and to connect — with yourself, with the music, and with others. Through somatic movement and free dance, we move from sensation rather than instruction, and discover just how healing it can be to be fully present — one breath, one beat at a time.
Why Accessibility Matters at Sol Space: A Personal Reflection by a Mom of Two
As a mom of two children with unique genetic codes, accessibility isn’t just important—it’s essential. At Sol Space, we’re building more than a yoga studio. We’re creating a community where every body, every family, and every story is welcomed with care. Accessibility here means inclusive movement, sensory-friendly spaces, bilingual support, and a deep understanding that not all paths look the same. Because when we make space for all, we all rise.
Between Cultures, Between Dreams: A Letter from an Immigrant Mama
Being an immigrant mom in the U.S. is a beautiful contradiction. I feel so much gratitude for the freedom to raise my kids in both English and Spanish, to feed them the same foods I grew up with in Mexico, and to build a life rooted in movement, art, and community. But there’s also isolation. There’s guilt. There’s the quiet ache of trying to be everything at once — mother, dreamer, advocate, healer. Sol Space is my response to that ache: a place for us to move, breathe, and grow — together.
A Space Built With Heart: What’s Next for Sol Space
Sol Space was never just a yoga studio. It’s a love letter to our community — a place built from two moms with big dreams, full hearts, and the belief that healing happens when we’re seen, supported, and held. Every class, every conversation, every moment shared in our space is part of something bigger: a movement toward connection, creativity, and collective well-being.
