Meet Karen: Breath, Flow, and Collective Healing

Join her for Energetic Morning Flow — Thursdays at 7:15 AM at Sol Space

At 7:15 AM every Thursday morning, as the sun rises over Jefferson Park, the doors of Sol Space open to welcome a class that’s anything but ordinary. It’s guided by Karen — a thoughtful, grounded, and intentional teacher — and it’s called Energetic Morning Flow.

But this class is more than movement. It’s an invitation to wake up through the power of the breath, to arrive fully in your body, and to meet the day ahead with clarity, rhythm, and purpose.

Where Breath Meets Flow

Karen’s teaching style is rooted in connection — not just to the postures, but to something deeper: the breath.

“My classes are a combination of centering, flow, and grounding, with a big emphasis on breathwork,” she shares. “Breathwork meets flow!”

Each class begins by anchoring inward — through breath, intention, and awareness — and then slowly builds into a moving meditation. The flow Karen offers is energetic without being rushed, grounding without feeling still. It’s the kind of movement that brings you home to yourself while waking up every cell in your body.

Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or just beginning, her class provides a space to feel, not just to perform. Karen’s cues invite you to listen deeply and to let the breath guide the body — rather than the other way around.

Yoga as a Mirror for Life

At the heart of Karen’s practice is curiosity:

“One of my main interests is using our practice to explore how we show up on the mat — and how that translates to our daily lives.

This isn’t just a workout. It’s a reflection.

How do we breathe when things get hard?

Do we rush through discomfort or linger with it?

Are we connected to ourselves — or just going through the motions?

Karen invites these questions gently, encouraging each student to explore their own inner landscape without judgment. It’s a subtle but powerful part of her teaching — creating a safe space to notice, to grow, and to shift patterns that no longer serve us.

Rooted in Culture, Grounded in Community

Karen’s journey into yoga and healing is deeply tied to her roots.

“I have worked on embracing my Mexican culture and its deep roots in healing and collectivism,” she says.

These cultural values — of care, of community, of ancestral wisdom — weave through her classes in quiet yet potent ways. You may not hear it overtly, but you’ll feel it: in the way she holds space, in the softness of her presence, and in the way every practice is a shared experience rather than an individual performance.

Her teaching is a beautiful blend of modern movement and ancient soul — rooted, warm, and reverent.

Start Your Day in Flow

If you’ve been looking for a way to start your Thursdays with intention — to wake up your body, connect with your breath, and carry that energy through the rest of your day — Karen’s Energetic Morning Flow is your space.

Come exactly as you are. No pressure, no need to perform. Just your breath, your body, and a community that welcomes you.
